About Martha Collison

Martha Collison is a best-selling food writer, broadcaster and recipe creator. In 2014, aged 17, she took part in the fifth series of The Great British Bake Off and remains the youngest ever contestant.

She has since written three cookbooks, the most recent being ‘Pull Up A Chair’ (publishing May 2025), established a regular column for Waitrose Weekend and built a combined online following of over 200k on social media. She became resident Show Chef on the Graham Norton Radio Show with Virgin Radio, and has also appeared on BBC1's Saturday Kitchen and regularly collaborates with household name brands.

She made the shortlist for the Guild of Food Writer’s ‘Recipe Writer of the year’ award in 2024, and is passionate about making delicious food accessible, sustainable produce and cooking up a storm for her young family. 

 

Martha regularly demonstrates recipes at festivals and bakes at high profile events, and was the official afternoon tea consultant at Wimbledon in 2016 alongside Michel Roux Jr. and Albert Roux. She works to create original content and develop recipes for several high-profile brands such as Cadbury, Mars, Lindt, Tate and Lyle, Panasonic, Billington’s, Charlie Bighams and KitchenAid.

Martha has previously partnered with Bramber Bakehouse, a charity dedicated to restoring women who have experienced sexual exploitation through baking workshops, and is currently an ambassador for International Justice Mission.

Her first recipe book, TWIST, published by HarperCollins, was released in 2016 and remained in the Sunday Times bestseller list for 3 weeks. Her second book, Crave, was published by HarperCollins on the 27th July 2017. Her third cookery book, Pull Up a Chair, was published on the 8th May 2025 by Octopus.
